EU, Kabul Reach Deal on Accepting Taliban Diplomats

DID Press: Sources close to the Taliban say several European countries have reached an understanding with the group’s authorities to accept diplomats nominated by the Taliban. If officially confirmed, the move could signal a new phase of diplomatic engagement between Kabul and Europe.

According to Nida-e-Baloch, informed sources reported that a number of European countries have agreed with the Taliban administration to receive diplomats proposed by the group. The report says six diplomats are expected to be sent in the coming days to begin assignments at Afghan embassies in Europe.

Details regarding the host countries, diplomatic ranks, and the exact timeline for the start of their missions have not yet been disclosed.
