Over 10,000m² of Handwoven Herat Carpets Reach Germany
DID Press: More than 10,000 square meters of handwoven carpets from Afghanistan’s western Herat province, valued at $103,000, have been exported to Germany since the beginning of the current solar year, said local Taliban officials.

Herat’s handwoven carpets are widely recognized for their high quality, traditional craftsmanship, and distinctive designs, giving them a strong reputation in international markets, particularly across Europe.
The local Taliban administration said it is working to strengthen the carpet industry by supporting producers, improving access to domestic and international markets, and encouraging increased production and exports of the traditional Afghanistan product.
