Two Killed in Separate Incidents in Western and Northern Afghanistan

DID Press: Two people have been killed in separate incidents in Afghanistan’s Herat and Jowzjan provinces, according to local sources and Taliban authorities, with investigations into both cases underway.

A local source in Herat said unidentified gunmen fatally shot Juma Gul Saghari, a prominent tribal elder, in Obe district on Wednesday. The attackers reportedly opened fire as he was returning home before fleeing the scene. Saghari, a resident of Mullah Mir Hassan village, also owned a shop in Herat city.

In a separate incident in Jowzjan province, Taliban officials said a young man identified as Parwiz was shot dead in Sheberghan city, allegedly by one of his relatives using a hunting rifle.

According to the Taliban’s provincial police command, four suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing, and an investigation is ongoing.
