17 Killed in Twin Terror Attacks Across Pakistan

DID Press: At least 17 security personnel were killed and 23 others injured in two separate terrorist attacks targeting police and military forces in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, according to local authorities.

The coordinated attacks claimed the lives of nine police officers and eight soldiers, highlighting the persistent security challenges facing Pakistan’s western regions, where militant and insurgent groups have carried out repeated attacks in recent years.

In the first incident, armed militants ambushed a police convoy in Balochistan, killing nine officers. Security officials said the attackers opened fire with light and medium weapons after setting up an ambush along the convoy’s route.

In a separate attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, militants targeted an army base, killing eight soldiers. Local sources said the attackers attempted to breach the installation but were met with resistance from security forces.

Pakistani authorities described both incidents as terrorist attacks and said security forces have launched search operations to identify and apprehend those responsible.
