Pakistan Recalls Kabul Envoy for Security Consultations

DID Press: Pakistan has recalled its ambassador to Kabul for security consultations, according to a report by The Nation, as Islamabad assesses recent political and security developments in Afghanistan, including the latest fighting in Badakhshan and its potential implications for Pakistan’s security.

According to the report, Ambassador Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani briefed senior Pakistani officials on the recent clashes in Badakhshan Province, the reported increase in armed anti-Taliban activity, and the possible impact of these developments on Pakistan’s internal security.

The consultations also focused on security along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border and measures aimed at preventing militant groups from operating in border areas.

Pakistani authorities, however, have not officially confirmed or denied The Nation‘s report.
