DID Press: Afghanistan’s national futsal team will begin its campaign at the 2026 Continental Futsal Championship in Thailand on Sunday with a match against the host nation.
The Afghanistan Football Federation has announced the schedule for the national futsal team’s matches in the tournament. According to the fixture list, coach Dejan Dedović’s side will face Thailand at 6:00 pm Kabul time on Sunday in their opening game.
Afghanistan will then take on Vietnam, Russia, and New Zealand in the following matches of the competition.
The 2026 Continental Cup is being hosted by Thailand with the participation of five teams from Asia and Oceania. All teams will compete in a round-robin format, with the champion determined based on the final standings.
Afghanistan’s coaching staff views the tournament as an important opportunity to improve team coordination, assess players’ performance, and strengthen preparations for upcoming competitions, particularly the AFC Futsal Asian Cup.
