Afghanistan United Front Claims Three Attacks Against Taliban in Southern Afghanistan
DID Press: Afghanistan United Front, led by former Afghan military commander Sami Sadat, said it had carried out three separate attacks against the Taliban in Badghis, Helmand and Kandahar provinces as part of what it called the launch of its “Afghanistan Liberation Mission.

“The group said on Saturday and Sunday that it had launched military operations against the Taliban and other militant groups. It claimed that two Taliban members were killed in an operation in Badghis, alleging that they had been involved in torturing former Afghan security personnel.
A video released by the group showed the bodies of two armed men beside a motorcycle in a barren area. The United Front did not provide details on when or where the incident occurred.
The group also released a video on Saturday claiming an attack on Taliban forces in Helmand, but did not provide information on possible casualties. On July 30, it separately claimed to have targeted Taliban forces along the Kandahar-Spin Boldak route.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid dismissed the United Front’s claims, saying the group’s activities were limited to social media and propaganda and that no new armed front was operating in Afghanistan “in reality.”The Afghanistan United Front, led by Sami Sadat, a former commander of Afghanistan’s special forces, was established in the United States in October 2023 and has so far been primarily politically active.
Sadat was a senior commander in Afghanistan’s former military and served as the final commander of the 215 Maiwand Corps in Helmand.
