Passengers Report Hours of Delays on Kabul–Herat Flights

DID Press: Passengers on the Kabul–Herat route have criticized repeated flight delays, saying they were left stranded for hours at Kabul’s airport despite paying high ticket prices, as repeated schedule changes and poor communication disrupted their travel plans.

According to passengers, the flight was initially scheduled to depart at 10:00 a.m., but was subsequently delayed to 2:00 p.m. and later 5:00 p.m. They said they were required to pass through security screening multiple times, only to be informed of further delays on each occasion.

Travelers said those affected included patients, elderly passengers, women and children. Many reported missing business appointments, funeral ceremonies, family gatherings and other important commitments because of the prolonged delays. Some added that they would likely have reached Herat sooner had they traveled by road.

The passengers called on the Taliban authorities to investigate the performance of airlines operating domestic routes and to ensure greater protection of passengers’ rights and improved service standards.
