Ariana: Indian Permit Delays Disrupt Kabul–Delhi Flights

DID Press: Afghanistan’s national carrier, Ariana Afghan Airlines, says no Afghan airline has yet obtained new authorization from Indian aviation authorities to operate flights to India, resulting in disruptions on the Kabul–Delhi route.

In a statement, Ariana said several of its Kabul–Delhi flights have been cancelled or delayed because India’s civil aviation authorities have not issued the required flight permits.

The airline said the situation is beyond its control and is solely related to the absence of the necessary operational clearances from Indian aviation authorities.

According to Ariana, the matter is being pursued through the relevant authorities in both Afghanistan and India in an effort to restore normal flight operations as soon as possible.

The carrier also stated that no Afghan airline has so far received new authorization to operate flights to India, a situation that has disrupted air travel between the two countries and left a number of passengers stranded.

Ariana advised passengers to verify the latest status of their flights through its official sales offices or authorized representatives before traveling to the airport, as schedules may change.
