DID Press: Syria and United States have held Israel responsible for an airstrike on a military air base in Idlib province, with Washington describing the action as an “unnecessary escalation” and warning that such attacks could further complicate the Syrian crisis.
Syrian state television reported that Israeli airstrikes early Tuesday caused material damage to an air base in northwestern Syria but did not result in casualties. Damascus described the attack as a blatant violation of its national sovereignty.
The strike was reportedly the first Israeli attack on Syrian government facilities since March.
Türkiye also condemned the attack, calling for an international response and greater coordination to address Israeli military actions. Turkish officials warned that continued strikes could further threaten regional security and urged the international community not to remain silent.
