Abdullah Calls for National Unity on Afghanistan’s Independence Day
DID Press: Former Afghanistan High Council for National Reconciliation Chairman Abdullah Abdullah has called for greater unity and solidarity among Afghans in a message marking the 107th anniversary of the country’s independence.

Abdullah congratulated the people of Afghanistan on Independence Day, saying the occasion serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by Afghans in pursuit of freedom, justice and equality.
He said Afghans throughout history had struggled and made sacrifices to preserve their national identity and the survival of their country, adding that remembering these efforts is important for both current and future generations.
Abdullah expressed hope that Independence Day would provide an opportunity to strengthen empathy, solidarity and national cohesion among Afghans.
He concluded by praying for greater unity and solidarity among the Afghan people and for conditions that would allow citizens to live in peace and harmony.
