Pakistan, Japan Discuss Regional Security and Counterterrorism

DID Press: Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Mohammad Sadiq, says he held talks with Japan’s ambassador and head of its diplomatic mission in Afghanistan on regional security, humanitarian and human rights issues, and the need to strengthen counterterrorism efforts.

Sadiq said the meeting with the Japanese envoy, Masamoto, focused on developments affecting regional security, humanitarian concerns and human rights, as well as the importance of enhanced measures to combat terrorism.

The discussions come amid continued security concerns in the region and growing calls for closer regional cooperation to address militant threats and humanitarian challenges.
