Syria, Pakistan Pledge to Expand Defense and Security Ties

DID Press: Syrian transitional government Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shibani called for stronger bilateral defense and security ties during a meeting with Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, in Rawalpindi.

Al-Shibani, who is visiting Pakistan at the head of a high-level delegation, discussed regional security developments and ways to expand joint cooperation with Pakistani officials.

Munir, meanwhile, highlighted the security challenges facing the region and stressed the importance of strategic cooperation between the two countries in addressing common threats.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding military and security cooperation, according to the report.
