Taliban Vow to Complete Salang Highway Rehabilitation Before Winter
DID Press: Taliban Public Works Minister Mohammad Isa Thani has inspected rehabilitation work on the northern and southern sections of the Salang Highway and called for the project to be completed to a high standard before the onset of winter.

The Taliban Ministry of Public Works said asphalt paving, concrete work, bridge and culvert construction, and the installation of retaining walls are progressing rapidly along different sections of the route.
Thani also urged contractors to use high-quality materials, comply with technical standards and complete the projects within the scheduled timeframe.
Representatives of the contracting companies said they would accelerate construction and complete the planned work before winter in accordance with technical standards.
The Salang Highway is a key transport route connecting northern and southern Afghanistan, making timely rehabilitation particularly important ahead of the winter season.
