DID Press: Lebanon-based Al Mayadeen reported that Iran has received an invitation to join the so-called “Mecca Agreement,” with the proposal reportedly under review in Tehran.
The agreement between Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan was established with the stated aim of strengthening defense cooperation and strategic deterrence among the three countries.
Türkiye’s foreign minister previously said the agreement was not directed against Iran.
However, no official details have so far been released confirming the reported invitation to Iran or indicating whether Tehran intends to join the agreement.
