Iranian Governor: Afghanistan Stood by Iran During Recent War

DID Press: Gholam-Hossein Mozafari, governor of Razavi Khorasan Province, has said the Taliban did not allow Afghan territory to be used for operations against Iran during the recent war, describing Kabul’s cooperation with Tehran as positive.

Mozafari said the Taliban supported Iran during the conflict and prevented Afghan territory from being used against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He added that Afghanistan maintained its position despite what he described as economic offers from the United States.

The governor praised cooperation between Afghan and Iranian officials, saying Kabul had shown “good cooperation” with Iran during the recent war.

The remarks highlight the Taliban’s stated position of preventing Afghan territory from being used against neighboring countries, amid broader regional tensions and competing diplomatic and economic pressures on Kabul.
