DID Press: Public support in the United States for military action against Iran has fallen sharply, with a new Reuters/Ipsos poll showing only 31% of Americans backing U.S. military action against Tehran.
The latest figure marks a decline from 37% in March and 34% earlier this month, bringing support for the war to its lowest level since the early days of the conflict.
The decline has also been reflected among Republicans. Support for military action among Republican respondents fell from 77% in March to 69% in the latest survey.
At the same time, only 33% of respondents approved of Donald Trump’s performance in the White House. According to the Reuters/Ipsos polling series, that represents the lowest approval rating recorded for Trump across his first and second terms.
The survey also found that 83% of Americans believe the war with Iran will continue for a prolonged period, reflecting growing concern over the duration and potential costs of the conflict.
The findings suggest that the continuation of the war is becoming not only an economic and security challenge but also an increasingly significant political problem for the Trump administration.
