Alarming Rise in Cancer Cases Reported in Afghanistan
DID Press: Afghanistan Cancer Foundation has warned of a concerning increase in the number of people affected by cancer in the country, saying the number of cancer patients has surpassed 1.5 million.

The foundation said cases of various types of cancer in Afghanistan have exceeded 1.5 million, with tens of thousands of new cases reportedly being added to the figure each year.
According to the foundation, limited capacity at government hospitals and patients’ lack of access to essential medicines have created serious challenges for cancer treatment.
Limited diagnostic and treatment facilities are also among the problems faced by cancer patients in Afghanistan.
The Afghanistan Cancer Foundation has called for greater attention to cancer prevention, early diagnosis and the expansion of treatment services for cancer patients.
