Three killed, Several Injured in Pakistan Airstrikes on Kunar

DID Press: At least three people were killed and several others injured following an airstrike by Pakistan on Kunar province in northeastern Afghanistan.

Local authorities confirmed the attack as tensions escalated between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The airstrike by Pakistan was reportedly carried out in response to a suicide bombing at a police checkpoint in northwestern Pakistan, an incident that has raised concerns over escalating tensions between the two countries and the possibility of direct conflict.

Zabihullah Mujahid, senior spokesperson for the Taliban government, had warned Islamabad before the airstrikes not to attack Afghanistan territory. He said that if Afghanistan territory were targeted, Kabul would respond militarily.
