Taliban Reports 28 Killed, 32 Arrested in Nuristan Operation

DID Press: Taliban’s Defense Ministry says 28 members of Daesh and what it described as “evil and corruption” elements were killed and 32 others arrested during a security operation in Nuristan province.

According to the ministry, the operation was conducted following the activities of Daesh members and other armed elements in Kamdesh district of Nuristan. It claimed that some of the remaining fighters fled to Pakistani military positions in the area.

The ministry also alleged that Pakistani forces and Daesh members withdrew from the battlefield at the beginning of the clashes, leaving the other armed elements behind.

The Taliban-run Defense Ministry said its security forces would continue operations against armed groups and to maintain security in border areas.
