Kabul–Jalalabad Highway Closed After Landslide

DID Press: Kabul–Jalalabad highway has been closed to traffic after a landslide in the Tangi-e-Gharu area, Afghanistan’s Taliban-run Ministry of Public Works said.

The ministry said the landslide occurred along the highway and that the route remains closed to vehicles. Ministry teams are reportedly working at the site to clear the road and restore traffic.

The ministry urged travelers and drivers to avoid unnecessary journeys along the highway and to use alternative routes where necessary.

The closure affects a key road connecting Kabul with eastern Afghanistan and Jalalabad. The ministry has advised travelers not to head toward closed routes until official clearance is announced.
