Iran to Maintain Relations With Afghanistan and Other Neighboring Countries

DID Press: Iran’s president, referring to Tehran’s relations with countries in the region, said Iran would continue engaging with its neighbors, while regional countries also take their national interests into account in their relations with Tehran.

Masoud Pezeshkian made the remarks at a meeting with the mayors of Iran’s major cities and provincial centers, saying Tehran was seeking to maintain its ties with neighboring and friendly countries.

He identified Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Azerbaijan among the neighboring countries that help Iran.

Pezeshkian also stressed that these countries take their national interests and calculations into consideration in their relations with Iran.
