Taliban: Pakistani Airstrikes ‘Will Not Go Unanswered’

DID Press: Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the Taliban, has condemned recent Pakistani airstrikes on parts of Afghanistan’s Kunar and Helmand provinces, saying the attacks “will not go unanswered.”Fitrat said the Taliban would “avenge the blood of the people” and deliver a “calculated response” to the attacks.

According to reports, residential homes were also damaged in the strikes, with a number of civilians killed and wounded. The United Nations said at least 10 civilians, most of them children, were killed in the attacks.Pakistan, meanwhile, said its airstrikes targeted positions of armed groups and were carried out based on intelligence information.

Islamabad claimed that 22 militants were killed in the strikes, a claim that has not been independently verified. As tensions between Kabul and Islamabad rise, concerns are growing over the potential expansion of border clashes and further civilian casualties. The United Nations has urged both sides to engage in dialogue to reduce tensions and prevent further harm to civilians.
