Five Scanners Installed at Afghanistan’s Major Customs Points
DID Press: Afghanistan’s Taliban-run Ministry of Finance says five scanners worth a combined 39.2 million afghanis have been installed at three customs points to make the inspection of goods carried by passengers faster, more accurate and more transparent.

According to a ministry statement, two scanners were installed at the Islam Qala customs post in Herat, two at the Torkham customs post in Nangarhar and one at Khost airport customs.
The ministry said the equipment will make the inspection and screening of passengers’ goods more effective and help improve the speed and accuracy of customs controls.
The equipment was purchased using the Ministry of Finance’s development budget, while installation was completed by a domestic company.
