Afghanistan’s Republican Front Claims Rocket Attack on Mine Storage Facility in Bamyan

DID Press: Afghanistan’s Republican Front has claimed responsibility for a rocket attack on a storage facility belonging to the Jost Mine in the Siah Dara area of Yakawlang District 1, Bamyan Province, saying the operation was carried out in response to what it described as the plundering of the country’s natural resources.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, October 14, the group said its forces targeted the mine’s storage facility in the Wori-Zagh area of Yakawlang District 1 at around 8 p.m.

According to the statement, several rockets were fired at designated targets. The Republican Front claimed that the attack inflicted heavy casualties on the Taliban. However, the reported casualties have not been independently verified, and no reliable details are available about the extent of the damage.

The group warned the Taliban and individuals it accused of cooperating with them in exploiting and plundering Afghanistan’s natural resources, calling on them to halt these activities.

The Republican Front said its operations would continue until what it described as the plundering of Afghanistan’s mines came to an end.

No independent information has yet emerged confirming the scale of the attack or the extent of any damage. The Taliban’s response to the reported incident was also not immediately available.
