Taliban Deploy 30,000 Forces Across Panjshir With 700 Security Posts

DID Press: Abdullah Khanjani, head of the political office of Afghanistan’s National Resistance Front, has claimed that the Taliban have expanded their military presence in Panjshir province by establishing around 700 security posts and deploying nearly 30,000 personnel.

According to Khanjani, the extensive concentration of security forces has led to the heavy militarisation of Panjshir. The Taliban, meanwhile, justify their forces’ presence as necessary to maintain security.

The scale of the deployment has raised questions about the objectives and reasons behind the Taliban’s military concentration in Panjshir.
