Saudi, Turkish and Pakistani Officials Set to Meet Iranian Counterparts in Tehran

DID Press: Tehran is set to host senior officials from members of the so-called Mecca Pact for talks with Iranian officials aimed at coordinating regional positions.

Reuters, citing two informed sources, reported that senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan would meet Iranian officials in Tehran on Monday, October 26, to discuss regional coordination.

According to the report, Saudi Arabia will be represented by Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, while Pakistan will be represented by Field Marshal Asim Munir, the country’s army chief. The head of Türkiye’s intelligence agency is also expected to attend the meeting.

The sources said the meeting would mark the first high-level contact between Iran and all three members of the bloc since tensions between Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement and Saudi Arabia escalated.

Saudi Arabia’s government media office and Pakistan’s military media wing did not respond to Reuters’ requests for comment on the planned meeting.

The talks are being arranged amid evolving regional security developments and rising tensions, underscoring the importance of coordination among regional countries.
