DID Press: Thomas Massie, a Republican member of the US House of Representatives, has said he will renew efforts to impeach US War Secretary Pete Hegseth if he remains in office after the midterm elections.
Massie, who previously initiated impeachment proceedings against Hegseth over the US war against Iran, has accused him of unlawfully launching and continuing the war, disregarding a congressional order to withdraw from the conflict, and causing unnecessary civilian casualties.
Congress is scheduled to vote on Hegseth’s impeachment next month after lawmakers return to Washington.
Democrats have also said they will seek to remove the head of the Pentagon if they win a majority in the House of Representatives.
