The Ministry of Public Health announced that with 40 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, the total number of infections has soared to 35,503 in Afghanistan.
During the past 24 hours, 40 new COVID-19 cases were tested positive out of 118 suspicious cases.
According to the Ministry, 17 people in western Herat, 17 in Ghor, 4 in Kandahar and two in Nangarhar were tested positive.
In the past 24 hours, 2 patients died from the virus, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,183 nationwide.
At the same time, 22 patients have been recovered. The total number of recoveries from the virus has reached 23,663 so far.
