Afghanistan to Face Portugal in Youth Olympic Futsal Semi-Final

DID Press: Afghanistan’s U18 national futsal team will face Portugal in the semi-finals of the 2026 Youth Olympic Futsal Tournament on Monday, November 9, following an impressive 6–0 victory over hosts Senegal.

The semi-final match is scheduled to kick off at 11:00 a.m. local time in Dakar, equivalent to 3:30 p.m. Afghanistan time, at the Dakar Arena.

Afghanistan secured their place in the last four after defeating Senegal 6–0 in their third group-stage match. Ali Ahmadi scored a hat-trick, while Zaker Hussain Abdullahi, Ahmad Esmaili and Hussain Hassani each added one goal.

The Afghan side had earlier opened their campaign with a 5–0 victory over Panama before suffering a narrow 2–1 defeat against Argentina.

With a place in the final at stake, Afghanistan will now face Portugal in a crucial semi-final encounter as they seek to continue their impressive campaign in Dakar.
