Nimroz Bans Sale and Use of Pakistani Medicines

DID Press: Public Health Directorate of Afghanistan’s Nimroz province has banned the purchase, sale, distribution and use of Pakistani medicines, ordering health facilities and pharmacies to remove the products from their premises.

In a public notice, the provincial health authority instructed pharmacies, clinics, hospitals and wholesale medicine suppliers to collect all Pakistani medicines in their possession and stop offering them for sale or distribution.

Under the directive, inspection teams will confiscate and burn any Pakistani medicines they find. Individuals who violate the order will also face legal action.

The Public Health Directorate has urged health facility managers and medicine retailers to comply with the instruction and refrain from supplying the prohibited products.
