DID Press: US President Donald Trump has alleged, without providing evidence, that Democratic Party leaders are pressuring Republicans through threatening letters and messages, and has urged the Justice Department to investigate the matter immediately.

In a post on his social media platform, Trump described the alleged conduct as a “criminal act” and accused Democrats of attempting to extort government officials, including the US attorney general, through threats of impeachment and other penalties.
He did not specify which letters or messages he was referring to or provide evidence to support his allegations.
The remarks came after Democrats won majorities in both chambers of Congress in Tuesday’s midterm elections, raising expectations of increased congressional oversight and investigations into the administration’s actions.
Meanwhile, Republican Representative Thomas Massie is expected to reintroduce a resolution to impeach US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, with the move potentially beginning as early as Monday.
