The Ministry announced Thursday that in the past 24 hours, 748 new cases were registered in different provinces of the country, bringing the total to 22,890.
Kabul, Herat, Balkh, Nangarhar, Kandahar, and Paktia have the highest number of infections.
According to the Ministry, 21 patients died from the virus in the past 24 hours. The total number of deaths is now at 426 nationwide.
313 patients have been recovered which brings the total recoveries to 3,326, the Ministry added.
The ministry of public health warned that if the citizens do not take the quarantine serious, the streets will be filled with corpses.
