Taliban group in a statement scoffed at 250-member delegation introduced by Kabul, stressing that Qatar meeting is a political conference, not a “wedding party”.
Taliban also said that no one will represent the Afghan government in this meeting.
“an intra-Afghan conference in planned for the 20th and 21st April in the capital of Qatar, Doha. We must clarify that the hosts of this conference have explained in both written and verbal form that no one will be representing the Kabul administration in this conference. If any participant is affiliated with the Kabul administration as was the case in the Moscow conference, they shall partake in a personal capacity and express their own personal views as no one is allowed to represent the Kabul administration,” the statement read.

The statement asserts that “the Kabul administration has published a list of 250 participants for the said conference but the hosts of this conference have no plans of accepting so many people from Kabul and neither is such participation normal in such conferences”.
“The creators of Kabul list must realize that this is an orderly and prearranged conference in a far-away Khaleeji country and not an invitation to some wedding or other party at a hotel in Kabul,” Taliban addressed the Afghan government.

“Arranging and publishing such lists signifies that the Kabul administration fears these conferences and progress towards peace and is trying to be a spoiler with such actions,” the statement added.
