Criticizing the continuation of M. Ashraf Ghani’s work, Hanif Atmar says that “an illegitimate government cannot hold legitimate elections.”
Addressing a public gathering in Ghazi Stadium on Tuesday morning, attended by thousands of Kabul residents, head of Peace and Moderations electoral ticket M. Hanif Atmar said: there is no guarantee for holding transparent presidential elections as the parliamentary polls were full of frauds and government’s plots.
“The leaders of NUG, first, gave big promises to the people and they themselves stressed that the constitution must not be violated, but now it has been violated by them,” he emphasised, adding that “the illegitimate NUG wants to hold the elections under its administration in order to launch widespread frauds.”
Describing NUG as the enemy of peace and the main factor behind division in the country, the head of Peace and Moderation electoral ticket asserted: the continuation of the NUG’s work is illegitimate and a big danger for elections. We want a caretaker government.
“Treasury looting by the government must stop,” he added, saying that an illegitimate government cannot hold legitimate elections.
“All contracts have been signed by the relatives of NUG’s officials while on the other hand, they are also being used as election campaigns, which this process must be stopped as soon as possible,”
“If this money would be used to satisfy poor children, they could be saved from hunger for a year,” he concluded, pointing to the 400 million Afghanis being allocated to holding the independence ceremony by the government.
