President Ghani in Meeting with Abdullah Stresses on Ceasefire
The head of High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR) Abdullah Abdullah met President Ashraf Ghani at the presidential palace on Sunday night.
The presidential palace said in a statement that during the meeting accompanied by National Security Adviser Hamdullah Mohib, both sides discussed the “latest development” in the peace process as well as regional issues.
President Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah expressed concerns over the escalation of violence in the country and emphasized on ceasefire, according to the statement.
The meeting comes as second round of talks in Doha crawl, and the Government-Taliban delegations did not give report about their negotiations.
Some members of the government peace negotiation team say that the Taliban are reluctant to talk.
