Khalilzad Meets Abdullah in Kabul

Starting his new round of trips to the region, US Special Representative on Afghan peace process Zalmay Khalilzad met the head of High Council for National Reconciliation Abdullah Abdullah at the Sapidar palace on Monday morning.

The office of the High Council for National Reconciliation said in a statement that the two sides discussed the peace process, talks in Doha, the US current review, and the steps forward.
“We reiterated our call for an immediate end to violence and the acceleration of the peace talks,” the statement added.

Khalilzad is expected to meet and discuss the peace process with other politicians as well.
