Poll Shows Strong Public Support to Cancel Visa Bond for Afghanistani Arbaeen Pilgrims

DID Press recently conducted a survey regarding the cancellation of the $500 visa bond for Afghanistani pilgrims attending Arbaeen. The results indicate broad public approval, with the majority of respondents viewing the move as a significant step in easing financial burdens and facilitating participation in the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

According to the survey, 80% of respondents considered the removal of the visa bond a “positive step towards easing the pilgrimage process and alleviating financial pressure.”

Interestingly, none of the participants selected options suggesting that the cancellation signified “a gesture of recognition for Afghanistani pilgrims” or an “enhancement of cultural and religious relations between the two nations.”

Additionally, 20% of voters described the decision as “valuable but insufficient,” stressing the need for further support measures for Afghanistani pilgrims.

The findings suggest that while the cancellation of the visa bond has been generally welcomed, a segment of the public still expects governments and relevant authorities to implement additional measures to lower travel costs and eliminate barriers for pilgrims
