Kabul, Tashkent to Sign 4 Power Transmission Projects

DID Press: Afghanistan Power Company (ABSC) announced that four important agreements on the transmission and development of power network will be signed between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.

ABSC announced in a press release on Sunday (August 17) that these agreements include the construction of 500 kv Surkhan-Dasht-e-Alwan power transmission line with a capacity of 1,000 megawatts, the development of the Arghandi substation with a capacity of 800 megawatts, and the construction of 220 kv Kabul-Sheikh Mesri power transmission line with a capacity of 800 megawatts.

Meanwhile, a contract will be signed for the construction of Sheikh Mesri substation in easern Nangarhar province with a capacity of 126 megawatts.

According to the officials of Afghanistan Power Company, these projects between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan are aimed at improving power infrastructure, strengthening the national network, and expanding bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
