TTP Commanders Arrested in Khost, Paktika, Transferred to Pul-e-Charkhi Prison
DID Press: General Directorate of Intelligence of Afghanistan’s Caretaker government has conducted operations in Khost and Paktika provinces targeting individuals affiliated with Tahrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other terrorist groups, reported security sources.

As a result of the operations, several suspected commanders—including Mullah Sangin and Hayatullah, known as “Ghalchaki Tangiwal”—along with two of his close associates, were arrested and transferred to Pul-e-Charkhi Prison.
According to the sources, the detainees are accused of recruiting Afghans to join TTP and its Gandapur faction. They are also alleged to have been involved in planning a terrorist attack aimed at disrupting the upcoming trilateral meeting between Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan in Kabul.
Reports further indicate that the group’s local office was destroyed during the intelligence operation. The detainees are also accused of opposing the August 15 ceremony, which marks the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan.
The development comes amid renewed counterterrorism cooperation between Kabul and Islamabad, as Pakistan repeatedly urged the caretaker Taliban administration to take action against TTP sanctuaries and facilitators operating on Afghanistan soil.
To date, the Taliban Caretaker government has not commented on the operation.
