China Supporting Afghanistan’s Right to Development
DID Press: Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Beijing supports Afghanistan’s right to pursue development and modernization, reaffirming China’s commitment to stand alongside all Afghanistan people.

Mao made the remarks while discussing Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s visit to Afghanistan, emphasizing that China backs Afghanistan caretaker government in sound governance and focusing on national development.
Referring to Wang Yi’s statements, she noted that since the resumption of the China–Afghanistan–Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ dialogue in 2022, “it acheived positive progress.”
China is prepared to deepen its good-neighborly trust with Afghanistan and Pakistan, enhance mutual understanding on core interests, and expand cooperation at all levels to strengthen strategic confidence, she added.
“China has always emphasized equality among nations, regardless of their size,” Mao said. “All countries should treat each other as equals and seek win-win cooperation. The world should not be a place where the rich grow richer and the poor grow poorer. Every country, including Afghanistan, has the right to pursue development and modernization.”
She concluded by reaffirming that China respects the choices of Afghanistan people and remains committed to fostering stable and lasting relations based on mutual respect and development.
