Around 60 Afghanistani Citizens Detained in Belarusian Prisons

DID Press: Abdullah Yaser, advisor at the Taliban caretaker government’s embassy in Moscow, announced that nearly 60 Afghanistani citizens are being held in prisons in Belarus.

Decisions regarding the fate of these detainees will be made soon, as the matter is under review, he added.

Previously, the Taliban embassy in Moscow had reported the travel of a delegation led by Abdullah Yaser to Belarus. During the visit, the delegation met with Belarusian officials and Afghanistani prisoners to discuss their situation.

While exact details regarding the reasons for their detention have not been released, it is reported that some were arrested for attempting to cross European borders illegally.
