Pakistan Declines to Comment on Drone Strikes in Afghanistan

DID Press: Pakistan’s Deputy PM and FM M. Ishaq Dar evaded a question about reported Pakistani drone strikes in Afghanistan’s Khost and Nangarhar provinces during a press conference in Islamabad.

Dar did not provide details regarding the operations or possible civilian casualties, saying only that he was aware of the incident and that information is still being gathered on the reported losses.

He also acknowledged that Pakistan’s ambassador in Kabul had been summoned by the Taliban’s interim government and was handed a formal protest note. However, Dar downplayed the move, describing it as a routine diplomatic practice, insisting there is no cause for concern.
