Xi Urges Economic Cooperation, Rejects ‘Cold War Mentality’ at SCO Summit

DID Press: Chinese President Xi Jinping opened the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit on Monday, calling on member states to reject “Cold War mentality” and pursue deeper economic cooperation and shared development.

Speaking in Tianjin, Xi said SCO nations should align development strategies, advance Belt and Road Initiative with high standards, and harness the region’s vast market potential for mutual benefit.

He also stressed support from the United Nations, the multilateral trading system, and faster implementation of projects under the SCO Development Bank.
