Afghanistan’s Exports Rise 43% in One Month
DID Press: Following recent initiatives by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Taliban caretaker government, Afghanistan’s exports in the month of Asad 1404(solar year) surged by 43 percent compared to the same period last year.

The ministry attributed this growth to the establishment of provincial export centers and the digitalization of administrative processes. The topic was discussed during the first online consultation meeting of the export centers held on Monday, 8 September.
At the meeting, Nooruddin Azizi, acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, along with officials from provincial export centers, reviewed activities and challenges in the export sector. The session included an executive report on Order No. 4343 from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Khan Mohammad Mazhabi, head of the Kabul Export Center, outlined the center’s efforts to facilitate exports and enhance engagement with traders.
The minister emphasized transparency in revenue collection, distribution of certificates of origin, accurate registration of trade documents, and full accountability of staff. He added that coordination between provincial centers, administrative updates, and the use of digital technologies are key priorities for improving the country’s exports.
According to Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, the country’s main export products include fresh and dried fruits, saffron, medicinal plants, and gemstones.
Last year, Afghanistan’s total export value exceeded $1.8 billion.
