Blast at Arms Dealer’s Home in Farah Kills 8 Family Members

DID Press: A powerful explosion at the home of Malang Jan, a well-known arms dealer, in Ganjabad village of Bala Boluk district in western Farah province killed him along with seven members of his family.

The blast occurred at midday on Sunday, September 8, at Jan’s residence, killing his wife, four sons, and two daughters, according to local reports. Eye Witnesses said the explosion was so intense that it completely destroyed the house.

Residents described Malang Jan as a prominent local figure invloved in trade of weapons and ammunition. He had close ties to with the Taliban’s caretaker administration.

While the exact cause of the incident remains unclear, local sources suggest the explosion may have been triggered by munitions stockpiled inside the house.
