Pakistan Raises Concerns Over Terrorism, Women’s Rights in Afghanistan

DID Press: Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN warned about increasing terrorist activities in Afghanistan and the deprivation of basic rights of Afghanistan women.

Speaking at a UN Human Rights Council session, Danial Hussain expressed concern over terrorist operations originating from Afghanistan territory, emphasizing that these activities pose a serious threat to Pakistan and regional stability.

He also noted that Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan continues attacks against civilians in the country, and accused Afghanistan’s acting government of supporting the group—a claim reportedly corroborated by UN Security Council reports, though denied by Kabul.

Hussain, highlighting Islamabad’s commitment to human rights, particularly women’s and girls’ rights, expressed concern over discriminatory restrictions on Afghan women’s access to education and employment, calling for international attention to the issue.
