Anas Haqqani: Afghanistan Enters “Golden Era” of Education and Technology
DID Press: A senior official of the Taliban’s caretaker government announced a new chapter in Afghanistan’s education and technology sectors, emphasizing that the experiences of war and past negotiations have laid the groundwork for today’s transformation.

Anas Haqqani, a high-ranking member of the caretaker administration, told an Indian media outlet that after decades of conflict and crisis, Afghanistan is now positioned to make significant progress in education and technological development.
“The experience of war and the difficult negotiations of recent years have created the conditions to build a different Afghanistan. Our government has plans for the country’s scientific development, and the circumstances are now in place,” he said.
Haqqani also praised India’s role in global discussions and initiatives concerning Afghanistan, urging New Delhi to resume its development projects in the country.
He further noted that one of the main reasons for Afghanistan’s historical lag in education was decades of conflict and insecurity. “Now that relative stability has returned, we must give special attention to scientific and technological development,” he added.
