Poll: Military Option Viewed as Washington’s Likely Scenario if Bagram Talks Fail
DID Press: A latest survey conducted by DID Press indicates that, in the event of a breakdown in negotiations between the US and the Taliban over Bagram airbase, a significant number of respondents view a U.S. military strike on Kabul as the most probable course of action.

According to the poll, 39 percent of participants believe Washington would resort to direct military action against Taliban government if talks fail. Meanwhile, 35 percent said intensifying economic pressure and sanctions would be the primary U.S. response.
Another 9 percent suggested US would rely on NATO allies to increase pressure on Taliban authorities, while 17 percent considered a retreat and renewed focus on diplomacy as the more likely option.
The findings reflect tense atmosphere surrounding the future of Bagram airbase—an issue that has recently emerged as a central point of contention between Washington and the Taliban government, with potentially far-reaching geopolitical consequences for the region.
At the same time, some intelligence sources have reported that the United States is preparing for a possible military operation in Afghanistan involving as many as 10,000 troops.
