Kazakhstan to Build Herat–Torghundi Railway
DID Press: Chargé d’affaires of Kazakhstan’s embassy in Kabul met with Herat governor Mawlawi Islamjar on Thursday, expressing his country’s readiness to begin construction of Herat–Torghundi railway.

According to a statement from Herat’s provincial office, the Kazakh diplomat underlined importance of expanding trade and transit ties with the province.
Governor Islamjar welcomed Kazakhstan’s humanitarian support and stressed the need to strengthen Torghundi border port, while highlighting Herat’s strategic potential for domestic and foreign investment.
On Thursday, Kazakhstan delivered 823 tons of flour and sugar, 500 tents, and 2,000 blankets as humanitarian assistance to Herat authorities.
